Nan Rothwell's Online Pottery Store

Welcome to my online store! My pots are made to be used; they are all microwave and dishwasher safe. The salt glazed and stoneware pots are fired in my own kilns, while the wood pots are fired by my friend Kevin Crowe. Because I fire in three different kilns, my work varies widely in color and texture. So instead of representing multiples of the same item, the pot you see in the photo is the one for sale. Many of my pots vary in color from side to side. By clicking on each pot's photo, you can see a different view or close-up detail. To learn more about me and pots, please visit my Homepage.

1107-025_bowl_set.jpg
Set of four bowls (1107-025)
$140.00
This set of four porcelain salt glazed bowls are not identical in size and color. Although I am capable of reasonably exact repetition, I no longer enjoy throwing that way. So my "sets" tend to be more like cousins than twins. ($36 each) 3" tall x 6.5" wide.

1206-032_two_mugs.jpg
Set of two blue mugs (1206-032)
$42.00
An unmatched pair of mugs, similar in form but varied in color. Done in my blue family of ash glazes, they range from bright blue to soft blue-grey. 5" tall x 3" wide.

1107-020_faceted_vase.jpg
Porcelain vase (1107-020)
$26.00
I made this fluted porcelain vase as a demo for a student who wanted to try to save a thick walled cylinder. Fluting or faceting are great ways to revive pieces that are too heavy. Salt glazed - 7" tall x 4" wide.

1107-023_orange_pitcher.jpg
Salt pitcher (1107-023)
$94.00
This is a large salt glazed pitcher with orange slip sprayed on one side. The brown orange peeled side is my stoneware clay (Highwater Phoenix) without any added slip. 15" tall x 6" wide.

1107-015_teal_bowl.jpg
Porcelain bowl (1107-015)
$48.00
A porcelain bowl done in a glaze that I got from my friend Chuck Brome. This glaze has a robin's egg blue to teal color depending on whether it is on porcelain or stoneware clay. 3" tall x 7" wide.

1107-021_lamp.jpg
Salt lamp (1107-021)
$92.00
I make these diagonal facets by cutting straight down with a wire while the lamp rotates on a slow-moving wheel. It's a process that requires a thick wall and a lot of confidence. 14" tall x 4" wide
